"Under the Angel" Daycare Center - Activity Overview

The "Pod Aniołem" Daycare Center, part of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, began its activities on January 7, 2003. It was established by decree of the Bishop of the Warsaw-Praga Diocese, Kazimierz Romaniuk, through the efforts of the then-parish priest, Father Krzysztof Waligóra.

The daycare is open on weekdays from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Currently, around 60 children and young people attend, receiving assistance with homework, participating in academic support sessions, and receiving help from educators. They can develop their interests through various activities, including art, theater, origami, current events, IT, culinary classes, board games, chemical experiments, and sports. Every day, they receive an afternoon snack. Community events are also organized, such as Family Festivals, group Christmas caroling, patriotic song singing, themed carnival balls, visits from St. Nicholas, and more.

For 26 years, the amateur children and youth theater group "Raj" has been active within the daycare center, attracting around 40 participants. During this time, they have produced 99 premieres and staged nearly 500 performances for the community. Theater preparations include singing and dance workshops, recitation, as well as training in lighting, sound, and multimedia operation. The carefully prepared performances and community events draw a wide audience and offer the district’s residents an engaging cultural experience.

For more than 15 years, computer classes have also been held at the daycare, during which unique, creative art projects are created, the daycare’s website is maintained, and materials related to daycare activities, such as posters and event flyers, are produced.

Parents assist in theater preparations and co-organize community events. Together with the children, they participate in free weekend excursions, trips to theaters, museums, and outings beyond Warsaw. Every year, for the past 26 years (except 2020 due to the pandemic), thematic summer camps combined with theater workshops have been organized for children and youth. Participation in daycare activities is free of charge.
